Online Sync

Online sync mirrors your Bluecoins database to a cloud provider of your choice, giving you:

  • instant access on any device logged into the same cloud account,
  • safe reads on multiple devices (and family sharing), and
  • a second copy off-device.

Setup

  1. Install Bluecoins on the primary device, enter all your data.
  2. Open Settings โ†’ Online Sync.
  3. Connect your Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive account (the app requests scoped permissions: create/update files it owns, never full Drive access).
  4. Choose Upload. Bluecoins uploads a single file (typically under 3 MB unless you store many attachments).
  5. On any other device, connect the same cloud account and choose Download.

Multi-user sharing

Family members can each run Bluecoins on their own phone against the same cloud file. Uploads are serialized per device and a conflict message appears if two devices write simultaneously โ€” re-download and continue.

Why a dedicated cloud backend

Bluecoins does not host your data on its own server: no monthly fee, full ownership, and your data never leaves the cloud account you chose. The offline (phone) copy is the source of truth; the cloud file is the sync channel.

Notes

  • The same file must be used on all devices โ€” configure Upload on one and Download (not a new Upload) on the others.
  • Attachments are uploaded separately with a background worker and sync lazily.
  • See Settings โ†’ Online Sync for the walkthrough, and the FAQ entry about Google/Dropbox/OneDrive connection issues.

Backup

Local backups complement sync: the app can schedule daily backups to device storage (Settings โ†’ Data โ†’ Phone Storage). See Data Management.
