Open via Settings → Data. Everything here is local (device/cloud via Online Sync).
Local Backup (Phone Storage)
Automatic backups
Bluecoins schedules daily automatic backups to device storage via a background worker:
- Backup file:
com.rammigsoftware.bluecoins.*.bcbackup(or.zip, depending). - A cleanup worker deletes old backup files after a configurable retained count so storage stays tidy.
- Works with Android’s app backup too if enabled.
Manual backup
- Backup now — snapshot to disk, and optionally to cloud (Google Drive does NOT require — it’s in the Online Sync).
- Restore — pick a file; validating with the current app version’s schema first.
CSV / QIF Import
- CSV Import — standard & advanced templates, import options: ignore amount sign, encoding, date format; on completion, report invalid rows. (See CSV Import guide and the legacy Excel CSV data settings.)
- QIF Import — for exporting from other popular apps; same pipeline (shared
DataImporter).
Phone storage / attachments
- Set the maximum attachment size (images on transactions).
- Base directory picker for exported files.
Reset
Full reset removes all data from the device (accounts → transactions et al). Two passes: in the Reset document you confirm the API as “I know my data will be lost”. You also see an option to reset only transactions (faster: keeps category/accounts) — useful before starting a new fiscal year.
