Reminders

A reminder is a transaction Bluecoins records automatically on a schedule — due dates, recurring bills, salary, subscriptions. Each is stored as a transaction whose lifetime is controlled by the schedule.

Creating a reminder

From the Reminders tab (or the transaction form’s reminder button):

  1. Create it like a normal transaction (account, amount, category).
  2. Set reminder options: start date, frequency (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly), and the day of month/week, or an ends condition — a specific date, after N occurrences, or never with a raised occurrence limit.
  3. Optionally, set a due day for bill reminders (the day on which you should pay) and a notification reminder.

When the schedule hits, a corresponding transaction is created in the account and shown in the Transactions tab for that date, marked as “reminder-created”.

Editing and deleting

  • Edit a reminder via the Reminders tab — every rule (amount, category, schedule) is editable.
  • Delete removes the reminder and its future occurrences. Use select-batch on the Reminders tab; transfer groups are expanded on batch delete to prevent ghost date headers appearing in your list.
  • Past occurrences stay in your history unless you delete them explicitly.

Occurrence limits

Ends-never series may be raised (e.g. from a software limit) without changing the behavior: ends-never reminders support more occurrences than before as of v13.1.30.
